For about 8 weeks, me and my classmates had been working on our Independent projects. This was such a fun experience, seeing everyones amazing and creative ideas for their projects and seeing the final pieces of art was amazing, everyone's art turned out so good! This project has helped me learn so much more about art and has helped me find new techniques for my future art projects, like how to shade better and what colors go well together etc. I also painted flowers which I haven't done a lot before. I was a bit nervous at first, thinking I might mess them up which then could mess up the whole painting, but I think they ended up looking really good and I am happy with how they turned out. There were definitely a few times where I got stuck on something or felt really frustrated with myself and how my art was turning out, like if I couldn't get curtain details right or if I had to keep repainting something or if something wasn't going on how I planned it. But after all the frustration, my three paintings turned out better than I had hoped. I love them and they are definitely some of my favorite paintings I've ever done. I'm really proud of myself and how far I've come with my art. I'm also really proud of my friends and my other classmates and their paintings as well. Seeing all the effort they put into their paintings and how hard they worked on them also inspired me to keep trying and working on my own paintings. My friends and I supported each other the whole time, and our art teacher, Mr. Grey also gave a lot of feedback and tips about our art works and what we could do to improve them and that definitely helped! This was a very fun project to do and I'm very happy I got to be a part of it, I can't wait for our next big project!

| We had our very first celebration of learning and It was such an amazing and fun event! I feel like the show went great! There were so many people there supporting us students and everything we have accomplished so far this semester! I think everyone had an amazing time watching the Rowley films and the play as well! I would have to say my strongest piece of art at the celebration of learning would have to be my portrait painting of a doberman. It took a while to get all the details right, but It has to be one of my favorite pieces of art I have made this semester because I think It really shows my talent and what I can create when I am really committed to it. Also, Being in the VAM academy, I do really think I have improved with my art style since the beginning of the school year and I am also starting to find what kind of art I like to make, but I do think I need to step out of my comfort zone a bit more and explore different styles of art for future projects in the VAM academy. But overall, I'm very happy with the progress I've made so far. |
